Kangaroos Cannot Walk Backwards
Due to their large feet and muscular tail, kangaroos can only hop forwards and cannot effectively walk or hop backwards.
About this fact
Kangaroos are built for forward motion. Their powerful hind legs, large feet designed for hopping, and thick, muscular tail used for balance make moving backwards very difficult and inefficient. While they might be able to shuffle back a tiny bit, they cannot perform sustained backward walking or hopping. This is why the kangaroo is featured on the Australian coat of arms, symbolizing a nation always moving forward.
