Koala Fingerprints Are Almost Identical to Humans'

In a remarkable example of convergent evolution, koalas have fingerprints that are virtually indistinguishable from human ones, even under a microscope. The ridges and patterns are so alike that experts have suggested koala prints could be confused with human prints at a crime scene. This trait likely evolved to help koalas grip eucalyptus leaves and branches.
