Penguins Propose with Pebbles

During mating season, male penguins engage in a charming courtship ritual involving pebbles. The male will search extensively for the perfect pebble - smooth, round, and just the right size - to present to his chosen female. If she accepts the pebble, it's a sign that she's interested in mating with him. The pebble is then used to build their nest. Different penguin species have variations of this behavior, but the pebble presentation is common among many species, particularly Adelie penguins. This behavior shows that elaborate courtship rituals aren't unique to humans.
